Terms & Conditions

By submitting your artwork to this competition, you agree to these terms and conditions set by MRS JONES Gallery:

 

COMPETITION ELIGIBILITY

​

  • The ‘Love Letters to the Future’ art ‘Competition’ is open to artists of all ages, across all creative disciplines, including both aspiring and professional artists.

 

  • Artists under the age of 16 must have the express permission of a parent or guardian before entering. The guardian will be required to submit the entry on their behalf. We will ask for proof of the child’s age, address, and agreement of your parent / guardian if you win.

 

  • Employees of the Company - MRS JONES Gallery, the panel of judges or members of their families or households, are not eligible to win.

 

  • Bulk entries made from trade, consumer groups or third parties will not be accepted.

 

 

SUBMITTING AN ENTRY

​

  • The Competition opens on 1st October 2024 and closes 5:00pm on 22nd November 2024 (the 'Competition Period').

 

  • No entries submitted before or after the Competition Period will be valid.

 

  • The Organiser has the authority to amend, extend or withdraw this without prior notice at any time during this period.

 

  • In order to enter the Competition, all entrants shall complete an online application form and upload an image of your artwork via the online form.

 

  • Any images must be high-resolution (above 300KB, but not exceeding 3MB) in one of the following formats: JPEG, PNG or PDF. 

 

  • Written work submitted as a PDF and must not exceed 750 words.

 

  • All entries will be charged a fee of £3.

 

  • A maximum of 3 entries can be submitted per person.

 

  • Any work that has been created or enhanced using AI technology in any way, must be clearly stated in the application description.

 

  • The artist is responsible for all costs associated with creating and submitting the artwork.

 

 

AWARDING PROCESS

​

  • Entries will be selected via a judging panel.

 

  • The judges shall be appointed by the Organiser in such number and of such qualification as it sees fit at its sole discretion. The Judges’ decision shall be final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

 

  • Winning entries will be announced on 1st December, 2024.

 

  • Prizes will be awarded to the winners within two weeks of the winning announcement.

 

  • Any competition monies awarded to winning artists is paid gross of all taxes and charges.

 

  • Digital images of the top ten finalists’ artwork will be showcased at www.mrsjonesgallery.co.uk in an online exhibition running from 1st until 24th December.

  • If a winner does not respond within five days of the first notification, the winner forfeits the right to claim the Prize. The Organiser shall not be responsible should a winner provide incorrect contact or delivery details.

  • Original artwork and all copyright is retained by the artist.

 

  • Individual feedback cannot be provided for unsuccessful entries.

COPYRIGHT PERMISSIONS FOR WINNING ENTRIES

​

  • By submitting entries, you hereby grant permission for the Organiser to use and promote your artwork for the express purpose of the competition, giving the Company copyright licence to store, distribute, communicate the work in accordance with the applicable copyright law.

 

  • As part of the prize, winners of the competition will have their work published on the websites and social media channels.

DATA PROTECTION

​

The organisers are committed to protecting your privacy and will use all personal data supplied by you in connection with your entry in compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation.

By agreeing to the terms and conditions, you are consenting to MRS JONES Gallery using your personal data for the administration of the ‘Love Letters to the Future’ art competition.

All personal data will be held securely and solely used for the purpose of administering submissions for the competition.

Your name and artwork title will be shared with the members of the judging panel and, where your entry is successful, may be published on the MRS JONES website and social media platforms.

The Artist’s personal information will not be shared with third parties or otherwise processes for alternative purposes without the Artist’s consent.

 

GENERAL

​

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the organisers exclude their liability for any direct or indirect damages or losses of any kind arising out of anyone's participation in the ‘Love Letters to the Future’ art competition, including any entrant's use of any of the monetary prizes.

​

The Organiser and Company accepts no liability for any loss, expense or damage which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person's negligence) in connection with the Competition or the winners’ enjoyment of the prizes, other than such liability that cannot be excluded by law including death or personal injury caused by negligence, where liability shall be limited to the minimum permissible by law.

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid by any court having competent jurisdiction, the invalidity of that provision will not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of these terms, which shall remain in full force and effect.

The ‘Love Letters to the Future’ art competition agree that these Terms and Conditions and any non contractual obligations connected to them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law and the English courts shall have jurisdiction to resolve any issue under these Terms and Conditions.

The following information and terms and conditions relate to ‘Love Letters to the Future’ art competition (the 'Competition'). By entering the Competition, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. 'The Organiser and Administrator' of this action is MRS JONES Gallery whose registered address is at 118 Longden Coleham, Shrewsbury SY3 7DU

These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law. Disputes arising in connection with these terms and conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

 

By submitting your entry, you are agreeing to and confirming all above, including:

The contact details you have provided are true and correct.

​

Any false information provided within the context of the art competition concerning identity, details, ownership of right or non-compliance with these terms and conditions or the like may result in the immediate withdrawal of your entry from the art competition.

 

Your artwork entry is your own work, must not be copied, must not contain any third-party materials and/or content that you do not have permission to use, must not infringe the rights of any other party.

Works that are known to be in breach of copyright (or reasonably considered by the Company to create a risk of infringing upon a copyright; shall be disqualified.

​

We do hereby indemnify the Company (MRS JONES Gallery) against all liabilities, costs, expenses, damages and losses (including but not limited to any direct, indirect or consequential losses, loss of profit, loss of reputation and all interest, penalties and legal costs (calculated on a full indemnity basis) and all other reasonable professional costs and expenses suffered or incurred by the Company arising out of or in connection with any claim made against the Company for actual or alleged infringement of a third party’s intellectual property rights arising from the submitted work.

Your entry does not contain any unlawful, offensive, defamatory, or obscene references or material.

​

We reserve the right to disqualify with immediate effect any artwork that does not adhere to these terms and conditions.

The Organiser accepts no responsibility for difficulties experienced in submitting an entry to the Competition.

If for any reason any aspect of the Competition does not function correctly, whether by means of infection by computer virus, network failure, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any cause beyond the control of the Organiser that corrupts or affects the administration, integrity or fairness of the Competition, then the Organiser may at its sole discretion cancel, modify or suspend the Competition and/or invalidate affected entries.

The Organiser reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions and any amendments will be published on the MRS JONES Gallery' website.
